Karachi: Engineers Pakistan Chairman Engineer Adil Askari has raised the issue of the long-pending technical allowance for engineers on the floor of the Sindh Assembly and demanded its immediate implementation.
Expressing concern over the delay, Adil Askari said that the technical allowance has remained pending for the past two years, despite the fact that a resolution regarding the matter has already been unanimously approved by the Sindh Assembly.
He stated that the continued delay in implementing the approved allowance is unacceptable and is creating frustration among engineers who play a vital role in the planning, execution, and supervision of development projects across the province.
According to Askari, engineers are among the key professionals responsible for the successful completion of infrastructure and public development initiatives. He argued that failure to address their legitimate concerns could negatively affect morale and ultimately impact the efficiency of development work.
The Engineers Pakistan chairman urged Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to ensure the immediate enforcement of the technical allowance. He emphasized that fulfilling this longstanding demand would help restore confidence among engineering professionals working in various government departments and public-sector organizations.
Askari further noted that the approval of the allowance would not only acknowledge the contributions of engineers but would also contribute to improving the overall performance of provincial development projects.
He maintained that engineers are essential to the province’s progress and that providing them with the incentives approved by the assembly would strengthen the engineering sector and enhance productivity.
The demand for the technical allowance has been a longstanding issue among engineers in Sindh, who have repeatedly called on the provincial government to implement the assembly-approved measure. Supporters of the proposal argue that such an allowance would recognize the specialized technical expertise required in engineering services and help improve professional retention within the public sector.
Engineer Adil Askari reiterated that immediate action by the provincial government is necessary to address the concerns of engineers and to ensure that development projects continue to benefit from the expertise and dedication of qualified professionals across Sindh.
