MIRPUR: Police in Mirpur have registered a case against a local resident, identified as Imran Sheikh, over allegations of delivering hate speech and making derogatory remarks against state institutions during a public gathering in the United Kingdom.

According to officials, the case was registered at City Police Station Mirpur under multiple sections of the law, including Sections 504, 505, 406, and 123-A of the relevant legal code.

Allegations of Hate Speech Abroad

The First Information Report (FIR) states that the accused allegedly made provocative and insulting remarks against state institutions while addressing a public gathering in the United Kingdom.

Authorities claim that the statements were intended to incite public sentiment and undermine the reputation of national institutions.

The FIR further alleges that the accused used inappropriate and derogatory language against the heads of key national institutions during the speech.

Legal Action Initiated

Police officials confirmed that the case has been registered on the basis of what they described as credible evidence.
