KARACHI, June 9, 2026: District Keamari Police held an important meeting to review security preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram, with senior police officials, religious scholars, community representatives, and organizers of religious gatherings participating in discussions aimed at ensuring peaceful observance of the holy month.

The meeting was chaired by SSP Keamari Singhar Malik at the SSP Office and was attended by the SP Baldia, SDPOs, SHOs, representatives of the Shia community, religious scholars, and organizers of Imam Bargahs and Muharram processions.

Detailed Review of Security Arrangements

During the meeting, participants conducted a comprehensive review of security measures for religious gatherings, mourning congregations (majalis), and processions planned during Muharram.

Representatives of religious organizations and procession committees highlighted various security concerns and administrative challenges faced in their respective areas. They also presented recommendations aimed at improving coordination and ensuring smooth conduct of religious events.

Police officials listened to the concerns and assured participants that all feasible measures would be taken to address legitimate issues before the commencement of Muharram activities.

Commitment to Foolproof Security

Addressing the meeting, SSP Keamari emphasized that the police department would ensure foolproof security arrangements for all majalis and processions across the district.

He assured organizers that maintaining peace and protecting participants during Muharram would remain the top priority of the district police administration.

The SSP stated that all genuine concerns raised during the meeting would be addressed on a priority basis and that police officers would remain in close coordination with community leaders throughout the month.

Instructions Issued to Police Officers

SSP Singhar Malik directed all police officers to implement comprehensive and effective security plans for every religious program scheduled during Muharram.

He instructed officers to maintain continuous contact with organizers and local stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of any emerging issues.

According to police officials, security planning will include route assessments, deployment strategies, contingency measures, and coordination with relevant administrative departments.

Round-the-Clock Vigilance and Rapid Response

The SSP announced that he would personally monitor security arrangements throughout Muharram-ul-Haram to ensure effective implementation of the security plan.

To respond swiftly to any untoward incident, police personnel will be deployed on the ground at key locations, while Quick Response Teams (QRTs) will remain on high alert around the clock.

Authorities stated that emergency response mechanisms would be strengthened to deal with any security-related situation in a timely and coordinated manner.

CCTV Monitoring and Checkpoint Security

As part of the security strategy, majalis and processions will be monitored through CCTV surveillance systems to enhance situational awareness and support real-time security oversight.

Special security arrangements will also be implemented at sensitive locations and major entry and exit points of District Keamari.

Police officials said effective checking and monitoring measures would be established at strategic locations to help maintain law and order and prevent any security threats during the observance of Muharram.

Enhanced Coordination Through Digital Communication

The meeting also decided to improve coordination between police authorities and religious organizers through the creation of dedicated WhatsApp communication groups.

These groups will facilitate immediate communication and information sharing among police officers, scholars, Imam Bargah administrators, and procession organizers.

All SDPOs and SHOs were directed to remain in contact with organizers and local administration on a 24-hour basis to ensure prompt handling of any issue that may arise.

Police Reaffirm Commitment to Public Safety

Concluding the meeting, SSP Keamari reaffirmed the district police’s commitment to maintaining peace and safeguarding the lives and property of citizens during Muharram-ul-Haram.

He stated that the Keamari Police would continue to perform its duties with professionalism, responsibility, and dedication to ensure a secure environment for all religious activities.

The meeting reflected the district administration’s efforts to strengthen coordination between law enforcement agencies and community stakeholders ahead of one of the most significant periods in the Islamic calendar, with authorities emphasizing vigilance, preparedness, and cooperation as key elements of the security plan.
