MUZAFFARABAD: The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has formally launched legal proceedings against Shaukat Nawaz Mir and Khawaja Mehran Arshad on allegations of sedition and activities deemed hostile to the state. The move comes amid growing political tensions and follows the emergence of an alleged audio recording that authorities believe may be linked to recent unrest in the region.
According to an official statement issued by the AJK Home Department, investigations have been ordered into speeches, writings, publications, and electronic communications attributed to the two individuals. Officials have been instructed to conclude their investigations and submit formal challans before the appropriate courts if sufficient evidence is found to support the allegations. The Home Department stated that the investigations would be conducted in accordance with the law and due process.
