Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday presided over a special meeting to review the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ scheme across the province.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that construction of 532 houses is already complete and that applicants have received loans totalling Rs1.216 billion for the construction of safe roofs.
The Chief Minister was further informed that 17,00,000 new applicants submitted applications for the loan and loans were approved for 2,25,000 applications.
The second installment of the loan was also approved for 1,71,597 applicants, while construction of 62,600 houses is still underway.
Maryam Nawaz was told that the Rs22.29 billion installment of the loan was disbursed among 3055 applicants. The meeting also granted approval for the entertainment of new applications.
