Earlier, the Punjab government extended the detention of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s sisters, Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi, by another 30 days, the Lahore High Court (LHC) was told.

A government lawyer submitted a report prepared by the Punjab home secretary to the court during the hearing of a petition seeking the recovery of the three women.

Detention orders against Imran Khan’s three sisters challenged in LHC

Detention orders issued against the three sisters of Imran Khan have been challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC) through a petition filed by Advocate Rana Mudassar Umar.

The petition names the Punjab government, the Home Department, Lahore Deputy Commissioner and other relevant authorities as respondents.

It challenges the detention orders against Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi, contending that they were unlawfully issued by the Lahore deputy commissioner.

The petition further argues that Aleema Khan’s detention order was issued after her arrest. It also states that police had already declared Aleema and Uzma innocent in case No. 96/23.

The petitioner has asked the court to declare the detention orders unlawful and set them aside.
