It has been revealed that additional payments were made to the contractor for the construction of a swimming pool at Lahore’s Government College University (GCU).

Pointing out over payment, the audit report has said that an additional amount of over Rs18.4 million was paid.

It has further said that despite the fact that the market cost of drilling holes is Rs60 per inch, the contractor was paid Rs350 per inch for the purpose.

The report has also raised objection to the costs of MS Bar fixing for the construction of the pool.

On the other hand, the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Punjab has said that payments were made according to approved estimates, technical approval and rate analysis.
