The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday issued notices to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), law ministry and others on the petition, challenging the appointments of Deputy Chairman NAB Ihtesham Qadir and Prosecutor General NAB Sohail Nasir.
Notices were also issued to the deputy chairman and the prosecutor general.
Similarly, the IHC also issued a notice on a miscellaneous petition, seeking court orders to both officials to stop working.
Likewise, a notice was also issued on a miscellaneous plea, seeking court orders to the concerned officials to submit record of the appointments of these officials.
Justice Umair Majeed Malik heard the petition filed by Dr. GM Chaudhry Advocate.
Speaking on the occasion, the petitioner said that appointments had not been made in a transparent manner as an no ad was given.
He argued that appointments were not made in accordance with the NAB Ordinance’s sections 5,6,7 and 8.
The petitioner prayed to the court to declare these appointments illegal and based on a mala fide intent.
