India has strongly condemned the reported attack on the Emirati city of Fujairah, calling it “unacceptable” and expressing concern over the safety of civilians, including Indian nationals affected in the incident.
According to a statement issued by the spokesperson of India’s Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi condemned the drone strike in Fujairah that reportedly resulted in injuries to three Indian citizens. The spokesperson said that attacks on innocent civilians are completely unacceptable and must stop immediately.
India also urged all parties involved to ensure the protection of civilians and called for restraint and peaceful resolution of tensions in the region. In addition, the statement emphasized the importance of maintaining uninterrupted access to the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy shipping route through which a large portion of India’s oil imports pass.
The Indian government reiterated its support for all diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving regional disputes peacefully, highlighting its concern over rising instability in the Middle East, which directly impacts global energy security and India’s economic interests.
Energy security is a major concern for India, as the country heavily relies on crude oil imports from the Middle East. Any escalation in conflict in the region, particularly near strategic maritime routes, raises fears of supply disruptions and price volatility.
Earlier reports from UAE authorities stated that an incident occurred in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, where a missile or drone strike allegedly caused a fire. The UAE government confirmed that three Indian nationals were injured in the incident.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the reported attacks, describing them as a serious provocation and a direct threat to the country’s security. It also stated that the UAE reserves the right to respond to such attacks at a time and manner it considers appropriate.
Meanwhile, the situation has further intensified regional tensions, with conflicting narratives emerging over responsibility for the incident. Iranian sources have previously denied involvement in similar allegations, calling some of the accusations misleading.
In response to the escalating situation, the United States Embassy in the UAE has also issued precautionary advisories for its citizens. Non-essential American personnel have reportedly been relocated, and visa services in Abu Dhabi and Dubai have been temporarily suspended as a precautionary security measure.
The developments highlight growing concerns over regional stability in the Gulf, where ongoing geopolitical tensions have raised fears of further escalation. International actors continue to call for de-escalation and diplomatic engagement to prevent the situation from worsening.
As investigations and diplomatic exchanges continue, the full details and responsibility for the Fujairah incident remain under discussion, with multiple countries closely monitoring the situation.
