Karachi: The suspension of sea breezes has led to continued hot and dry weather in Karachi, with authorities warning that the city is likely to experience intense heat again اليوم.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the weather in Karachi is expected to remain hot and dry over the next 24 hours. The minimum temperature recorded last night was 26.5°C, while the maximum temperature today is expected to range between 37°C and 39°C.

The Met Office stated that sea breezes, which عادةً provide relief to کراچی residents, are currently calm. Humidity levels in the city stand at 48%, adding to the discomfort and making the الحرارة feel more intense than the actual temperature.

Across the country, most regions are also likely to experience hot and dry weather. However, some areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir may receive rain at isolated locations, offering partial relief from the heat.

Recent temperature records indicate the شدت of the ongoing heatwave. On Monday, the highest temperatures were recorded in Turbat and Mithi at 45°C, followed by Karachi, Sukkur, Sibi, Lasbela, and Thatta at 44°C. دیگر شہروں میں Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur recorded 40°C, while Lahore saw 37°C, Islamabad and Quetta 34°C, and Peshawar 33°C.

In Punjab, several areas including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Pakpattan, Faisalabad, Gujrat, and Vehari experienced rainfall, with some regions also reporting hailstorms. These weather variations highlight the unstable atmospheric conditions prevailing across the country.

Meanwhile, unfortunate incidents were reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir, where rain and lightning strikes resulted in the deaths of five individuals. In the northern mountainous regions, including Babusar Top, Nanga Parbat, and Batogah Top, intermittent snowfall continues, reflecting the diverse weather patterns across Pakistan.

Overall, Karachi residents are advised to take precautions against the heat, as the absence of sea breeze combined with humidity can significantly increase discomfort and the risk of heat-related illnesses.
