Karachi: The Commissioner of Karachi has granted approval to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to set up cattle markets at five locations across the city ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
According to an official notification, cattle markets will be established at Sunday Bazaar North Karachi, KMC Ground, Safari Park, and in Gulistan-e-Johar Blocks 5 and 6. These locations have been selected to facilitate citizens in purchasing sacrificial animals conveniently.
In addition, permission has also been given to set up cattle markets at Bakra Piri in Lyari and on a vacant plot in Korangi, expanding access to different parts of the city.
It is worth noting that KMC had initially requested approval for setting up cattle markets at 11 locations, but the commissioner has currently approved only five sites.
Authorities have stated that proper arrangements will be made at these markets, including cleanliness, security, and basic facilities, to ensure a smooth and safe experience for the public.
