KARACHI: Remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis increased in August despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), overseas Pakistanis sent $3.7 billion in remittances in August 2026, marking a 0.7% increase from July and a 16.5% rise compared with August 2025.

During the first two months of the current fiscal year, Pakistan received a total of $7.3 billion in remittances, compared with $6.4 billion during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

The SBP said remittances during the first two months of the current fiscal year increased by 14.7% year-on-year.
