SUKKUR: B-Section Police conducted separate operations in different parts of the city and arrested two suspects, recovering gutka mawa and cannabis from their possession.
According to police, separate cases have been registered against the arrested suspects and further investigation is underway.
Police said the first operation was conducted near Railway Ground on Station Road, within the jurisdiction of B-Section Police Station. During the operation, officers arrested Naveed, son of Wazir Ali Channa, a resident of New Pind.
Police claimed that 35 packets of gutka mawa were recovered from the suspect’s possession. A case, registered as FIR No. 173/2026 under Section 8 of the SMMG Act, was subsequently filed against him.
In a separate operation carried out in the Hawa Bandar area, B-Section Police arrested Aamir Ali, son of Mudassar Ali Brohi, a resident of Takkar Mohalla.
According to police, 500 grams of cannabis (charas) was recovered from his possession. Police registered FIR No. 174/2026 under Section 9(1) of the SCNS against the suspect.
Police officials said further questioning of both arrested suspects is continuing as part of the investigation.
The police have also decided to intensify action against individuals involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics and other harmful substances in the area.
Officials said indiscriminate operations against criminal elements and drug dealers would continue in order to curb illegal activities and improve public safety.
Police maintained that strict action would be taken against those found involved in the manufacture, sale, distribution or possession of narcotics and other prohibited substances.
The latest operations are part of ongoing efforts by B-Section Police to target drug-related activities and criminal elements operating within the jurisdiction.
Authorities said additional measures would be taken based on the findings of the ongoing investigations.
