Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has strongly criticized the Sindh government and said that the people of Sindh are unfortunate because they are being ruled by such leaders.
Speaking at a lawyers’ convention in Karachi, Sohail Afridi said that the people of Sindh had shown great respect and courage. He said that the people had faced what he called “fascism” with courage. He also criticized the treatment of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers in Karachi.
Afridi said that PTI workers are being arrested in Karachi. He also claimed that the party believes the current assemblies were formed through an improper process.
While talking about Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Afridi said that on one side, Bilawal welcomes them, but on the other side, problems are created on the roads. He referred to the condition of roads and said that potholes are dug along the routes. He presented this as an example of the problems faced by the people.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister also spoke about the political position of another chief minister. He said that one chief minister had claimed that there was a threat from neighboring countries. Afridi questioned this statement because, according to him, the same political party is also part of the federal government.
Afridi said that this situation raises questions about the party’s political position and its message about the state. He argued that if a party is part of the federal government while its provincial leadership talks about threats from neighboring countries, then there is a contradiction in its political position.
He also discussed Pakistan’s relations with Afghanistan. Afridi said that relations with Afghanistan were better during the time when the founder of PTI was in power. He said that when they criticized the government’s policy, they were told to go to Afghanistan.

Afridi also spoke about his personal background. He said that he did not come from a wealthy family and that he used to travel to school by buses and rickshaws. He said that he is not a relative of PTI founder Imran Khan and is not a billionaire.
