Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja ordered the formation of a dedicated Artificial Intelligence (AI) wing within the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to align the institution with modern technology on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The decision was taken during a high-level meeting of the Election Commission chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner. Secretary Election Commission and senior officials also attended the meeting.

Officials briefed the meeting on the Digital Office (E-Office), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Election Commission’s new modern website.

To meet the requirements of the modern era Sikandar Sultan Raja directed the establishment of an AI wing. The wing will provide technological support to various departments of the Election Commission.

The Chief Election Commissioner also directed that training of staff from all relevant wings regarding the Digital Office (E-Office) be completed by October 15, 2026.

He said the E-Office system should be fully digitized and implemented across the Election Commission of Pakistan by the last week of December.

The meeting also approved the launch of a new dynamic, colourful, interactive and public-friendly website for the Election Commission of Pakistan.
