SUKKUR : Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Sukkur Range Nasir Aftab chaired an important meeting with all heads of branches posted at the Range Office Sukkur. Various matters relating to police affairs, redressal of public complaints, departmental performance and the discharge of official duties were reviewed during the meeting.
Addressing the officers and personnel, DIG Sukkur Range Nasir Aftab stressed that they must perform their duties with honesty, merit, transparency and a strong sense of public service. He made it clear that providing timely justice and relief to citizens is a fundamental responsibility of the police, and that negligence, sluggishness or carelessness in resolving public issues would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The DIG directed officers to give priority to merit in all police-related matters and ensure that no citizen is subjected to injustice or discriminatory treatment. He also stressed strict compliance with the law, rules and regulations while performing official duties. He warned that officers or personnel found misusing their authority or neglecting their responsibilities would face action without discrimination.
Meanwhile, several applicants from all three districts of Sukkur Range also met DIG Nasir Aftab and presented their complaints and problems. The DIG listened to their grievances attentively and directed the relevant officers to resolve the citizens’ issues immediately on a priority basis.
He also sought progress reports from the concerned officers regarding action taken on the applicants’ complaints and directed that transparent inquiries be completed into various matters so that the facts could be brought to light.
DIG Sukkur Range Nasir Aftab made it clear that if any officer or official is found, on the basis of inquiry reports, to have been negligent, misused authority, acted unjustly or committed any unlawful act, departmental and legal action would be taken against them without discrimination.
He further directed police officers and personnel to treat citizens courteously and take their complaints seriously, ensuring prompt redressal in accordance with the law. He emphasized that honesty, merit and transparency must be ensured at every level to restore public confidence and improve the positive image of the police.
DIG Nasir Aftab instructed officers to perform their responsibilities with dedication and a strong sense of accountability so that citizens could receive timely justice and better policing services.
