MUZAFFARGARH: Government schools in Muzaffargarh have been directed to grow seasonal vegetables on their premises alongside carrying out their regular educational activities.
The Education Department has issued a directive to heads of government schools, instructing them to ensure the cultivation and proper maintenance of seasonal vegetables within school premises.
According to the official communication, schools are required to make arrangements for growing vegetables and appoint a designated person responsible for their cultivation and care.
The department has stressed that the initiative must be implemented at all government schools and that school heads will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the instructions.
Schools Ordered to Ensure Proper Cultivation
The Education Department has instructed schools to cultivate seasonal vegetables and ensure that the crops receive proper care.
Where previous cultivation efforts did not produce satisfactory results, schools have been directed to plant the vegetables again and take appropriate measures to improve production.
The department has also emphasized the importance of timely watering. School staff responsible for the vegetable gardens have been instructed to ensure that the crops receive adequate water according to their needs.
The initiative appears to be aimed at encouraging schools to make productive use of available space while introducing students to practical activities related to agriculture, gardening and environmental care.
Daily Photos Required
The department has introduced a monitoring requirement as part of the instructions.

Headmasters Responsible for Implementation
The official letter places responsibility for implementation on the headmasters and heads of government schools.
They have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the department’s directions and to oversee arrangements for cultivation, watering and regular maintenance.
A designated member of the school staff is also required to take responsibility for looking after the vegetables and monitoring their growth.
The directive means that school authorities will now have an additional responsibility alongside their core educational duties: maintaining and monitoring vegetable cultivation on school premises.
The initiative could provide students with an opportunity to learn about plant cultivation, food production, environmental responsibility and basic agricultural practices through practical experience.
