A medical examination of former Prime Minister Imran Khan was conducted at Adiala Jail, with his wife Bushra Bibi present during the check-up.
The examination was carried out by a five-member medical board formed on the instructions of the Islamabad Chief Commissioner. The team visited the jail to perform a follow-up assessment of Imran Khan’s affected eye. According to jail sources, the check-up lasted around two hours, after which the medical team departed.
Officials stated that the board, comprising specialist ophthalmologists and medical staff, conducted a comprehensive examination using modern equipment. A government ambulance equipped with advanced medical tools was also present at the facility during the visit.
The medical team included eye specialists such as Professor Nadeem Qureshi, Dr. Arif Khan, Professor Altaf Hussain, Professor Akhtar Ali Bandesha, and Dr. Ali Arif. Their focus was to review the progress of treatment on Imran Khan’s eye condition.
Earlier, he had undergone treatment twice at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). According to medical experts, a third injection is expected as part of the treatment plan. The purpose of this latest examination was to evaluate improvement before proceeding with the next stage.
The formation of the medical board followed directions from the Islamabad High Court, which had instructed the Chief Commissioner to arrange proper medical care after a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The board is expected to submit its report to the Chief Commissioner, detailing the progress and recommending further treatment.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister Atta Tarar stated that arrangements would be made for Imran Khan to speak with his children via phone on Eid. He also added that holders of NICOP cards do not require a visa to enter Pakistan, but must comply with local laws during their stay.
