Khairpur: Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Regional Director Umar Farooq Baloch visited Central Jail Khairpur and reviewed facilities provided to prisoners, including healthcare, medicines, food, cleanliness, drinking water and meeting arrangements.
He also met prisoners and their families to hear their concerns. The official inspected medical facilities, the pharmacy, kitchen, barracks and prison records.
He directed the jail administration to improve healthcare, ensure timely medicines, maintain cleanliness and provide proper food and basic facilities. Issues including frequent power outages and repairs to some barracks were also noted, with instructions issued to address them promptly.
