TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that global peace and stability must emerge from the Middle East itself.

Addressing a ceremony in Tehran, Pezeshkian said no one could force a determined nation to surrender.

He said Iran had neither started nor sought war, but would firmly resist any aggression and would not bow to threats.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said new regional agreements could mark the beginning of a new era in which Muslim countries rely on their own capabilities for security rather than external powers.

He stressed that regional security should be based on cooperation, unity and joint efforts among Muslim nations.
