ISLAMABAD: The government has rejected claims aired by US broadcaster CNN regarding the health and jail conditions of PTI founder Imran Khan.

According to the government, Imran Khan is being provided proper medical facilities, family meetings, phone calls, home-cooked food and access to exercise while in prison.

The government said Khan’s family members have met him around 198 times, while he has undergone approximately 30 medical examinations.

It also stated that Imran Khan’s two sons hold valid NICOPs, which are accepted travel documents for entering Pakistan.

The government urged CNN to distinguish verified prison and medical records from politically disputed claims in its future reporting.

CNN journalist Becky Anderson had aired an interview with a PTI leader based abroad, who expressed concerns about Imran Khan’s health.

Anderson later shared the Pakistani government’s response on her social media account.
