Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, has shared images on social media of the graves of 160 schoolgirls who were reportedly killed in a US airstrike. The post, published on the platform X (formerly Twitter), included a caption referencing the rescue that former Donald Trump had promised to the Iranian people.

Araghchi described the attack as a brutal act spanning from Gaza to Minab, emphasizing that innocent lives were mercilessly taken. The 160 young girls were buried in a cemetery in Minab, Iran, following the tragic incident.

According to reports, the fatalities occurred during a joint operation carried out by United States and Israel on February 28, which US authorities referred to as “EPIC FURY.” The strike targeted multiple locations, including an elementary school in Minab, where the young students were killed.

The release of the images by the Iranian foreign minister has drawn international attention and condemnation, highlighting the human cost of the recent military operations in the region. Iranian officials have used the post to underscore the impact of foreign strikes on civilian populations, particularly vulnerable children.

Human rights observers and media reports indicate that such attacks have intensified regional tensions, raising concerns over the targeting of schools and civilian infrastructure. The tragic loss of 160 schoolgirls in Minab is being widely cited as an example of the escalating humanitarian crisis resulting from ongoing military conflicts in the area.
