An Iranian private airline flight narrowly avoided a possible accident after experiencing a technical problem and making an emergency landing at Ankara International Airport in Türkiye.
According to the report, the flight departed from Istanbul for Tehran at 11:43 p.m. Pakistan time. The aircraft initially flew normally at an altitude of around 35,000 feet for approximately 15 minutes before a technical malfunction occurred.
Following the problem, the aircraft began losing altitude. The pilot declared an emergency on radar at around 12:13 a.m.
During the emergency, the aircraft’s altitude reportedly dropped significantly. It was later observed again on radar after briefly disappearing from radar coverage.
The pilot contacted Ankara Air Traffic Control and requested permission to make an emergency landing.
The aircraft was subsequently brought down safely at Ankara International Airport at around 12:29 a.m.
Immediately after landing, a security team surrounded the aircraft and moved it to a designated area of the airport.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the information provided. Authorities are expected to investigate the technical malfunction that forced the aircraft to divert from its planned route to Tehran.
