The Sindh Reproductive & Genetic Health Centre (SRGHC), Ward 9-B, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), has achieved another remarkable success as a 28-year-old woman, who had been struggling with infertility for the past 10 years, has successfully conceived following free IVF, ICSI and Frozen Embryo Transfer treatment.
The patient was facing multiple fertility challenges, including blocked fallopian tubes, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and male-factor infertility. The expert team at SRGHC provided the complete treatment free of cost.
Egg retrieval was performed on April 16, 2026, followed by Frozen Embryo Transfer on August 6, 2026. The pregnancy has now been confirmed.
Prof. Dr. Nighat Ali Shah said that the underprivileged couple could not afford the approximately Rs. 1.8 million cost of fertility treatment at a private facility. “At SRGHC, we were able to make parenthood possible for them completely free of cost,” she said.
She highlighted that the achievement reflects the commitment of Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho to providing advanced healthcare services to deserving patients through the public healthcare system.
The successful treatment was carried out by the dedicated SRGHC team, including Dr. Nida, Dr. Kanwal, Dr. Bakhtawer and Dr. Takkassur.
Established in 2019, SRGHC, an integral part of Ward 9-B, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, JPMC, provides advanced fertility and reproductive healthcare services to underprivileged families who cannot afford expensive private-sector treatment.
The centre continues to provide modern fertility treatment with the aim of making quality reproductive healthcare accessible to all.
