A devastating traffic accident occurred near Tando Masti on the national highway in Khairpur, claiming the lives of 11 passengers and leaving 10 others injured.
According to rescue sources, a passenger coach collided with a trailer during an overtaking maneuver. The coach driver and conductor also died in the crash. All deceased and injured individuals were immediately transported to Khairpur Civil Hospital for medical attention. The ill-fated coach was traveling from Punjab to Karachi at the time of the accident.
Response by Authorities
The Inspector General of Sindh directed the Khairpur Police and SSP Khairpur to immediately reach the accident site and oversee rescue operations. Emergency services were deployed in the surrounding areas to provide aid to victims and maintain safety.
Circumstances of the Crash
Preliminary reports suggest that the coach, traveling at high speed, attempted to overtake another vehicle when it collided with the trailer. The impact caused severe damage to the coach and left multiple passengers critically injured. Rescue teams noted the intensity of the collision, highlighting that several bodies and injured individuals had to be carefully extricated from the wreckage.
Recent Pattern of Road Accidents
This tragic incident comes a day after another deadly accident near Kathore, where an oil tanker and a passenger bus collided, resulting in 13 fatalities. In that case, police reported that a speeding passenger bus entered the wrong lane near Ansari Bridge and collided with the oil tanker, involving several other vehicles and causing people sitting on top of a passenger van to fall off the bridge.
