Hyderabad, August 20, 2026: Sakhi Pir Police have arrested an alleged notorious drug supplier and recovered a substantial quantity of raw material and gutka from his possession, according to a press release issued by the District Police Hyderabad.
The operation was carried out on the directives of DIG Hyderabad Range Tariq Razzaq Khan Dharejo and SSP Hyderabad Shahzaib Chachar. The action was conducted under the supervision of SDPO Market Muhammad Rais Khanzada, while SHO Inspector Shehzad Qazi led the police team that carried out the operation.
According to police, Sakhi Pir Police acted on a tip-off and arrested a suspected drug supplier identified as Shehzad alias Bhola.
During a search, police reportedly recovered two containers of raw material and 500 gutka sachets from the suspect’s possession.
Police said initial questioning revealed that the arrested suspect was already wanted by law-enforcement authorities. He was reportedly absconding in connection with Crime No. 116/2026, registered under Section 8 of the Gutka and Mainpuri Act.
Following the recovery, Sakhi Pir Police registered another case against the suspect under Crime No. 126/2026, also under Section 8 of the Gutka and Mainpuri Act.
The newly registered case concerns the alleged possession of raw material and gutka recovered during the police operation.
Police said further investigation is under way to determine the suspect’s alleged involvement in the supply and distribution network and to establish whether he was connected to other individuals involved in the illegal trade.
The arrest forms part of ongoing police action against the manufacture, supply and distribution of gutka and Mainpuri in Hyderabad. Authorities have continued to target individuals suspected of producing or supplying such products in different parts of the city.
Police officials said action against individuals involved in such activities would continue in accordance with the law.
