SUKKUR : Eighteen days after young writer Aamir Ansari, a resident of Khara, mysteriously went missing from the Township area of Sukkur, there has been no trace of him. His family continued their protest camp outside the Sukkur Press Club for the ninth consecutive day, demanding his immediate and safe recovery.
The protesters included Ms. Aram Ansari, Salma Ansari, Dr. Nazir Khokhar and others. Speaking to the media, they said that Aamir Ansari had arrived at his maternal aunt’s house in Sukkur’s Township area as a guest 18 days ago. He left the house for some work but never returned and subsequently went missing under mysterious circumstances.
According to the family, they informed Sukkur police about Aamir’s disappearance and also contacted the relevant authorities to assist in the search. However, despite the passage of 18 days, no information regarding his whereabouts has been obtained.
The prolonged disappearance has left Aamir’s family in severe mental distress and anxiety. The protesters said that his sudden disappearance had plunged the entire family into deep anguish, while their concern for his safety was increasing with each passing day.
The family members demanded that the police and other relevant institutions take effective and immediate measures to locate Aamir Ansari and ensure his safe recovery.
The protesting family also appealed to the Inspector General of Sindh Police and other senior officials to take immediate notice of the matter, ensure the young writer’s early recovery, and investigate the circumstances and possible reasons behind his disappearance.
