Sukkur : A central ceremony marking Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day and celebrating the country’s victory in the Battle of Truth (Maarka-e-Haq) was organized at the premises of Jamia Makrani Mosque, Markaz Ahle Sunnat, Jamia Ghausia Razvia, and Bazm Khuddam-e-Raza (Students’ Wing) in Sukkur.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the presentation of Naat-e-Rasool ﷺ. This was followed by the national anthem and hoisting of the national flag. A special prayer was also offered for the security, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan.
The chief guest was Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan central leader and successor to Mufti-e-Azam, Qibla Mufti Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Qadri.
Other distinguished guests included Chairman of Tanzeemat Ahle Sunnat and Mujahid-e-Ahle Sunnat Musharraf Mahmood Qadri, Sahibzada Syed Hamid Mahmood Faizi, Hafiz Muhammad Shehzad Qadri, Mufti Noman Hanafi, Mufti Jameel Ahmed Channa, Maulana Maqsood Ahmed Tahiri, Maulana Ghulam Shabbir Kaloṛ, Maulana Sajid-ur-Rehman Mirani, Maulana Abdul Rauf Ajmeri, Maulana Adnan Makati, Maulana Noman Khan, Maulana Mehr Ali Saeedi, Maulana Ameer Ali, Maulana Huzoor Bakhsh, Maulana Haris Ansari, Qari Hasnain, Qari Mehtab Raza, Qari Faiz Karim, Maulana Afzal Hussaini, Maulana Uzair Khan, Maulana Iftikhar Aqeel, and Qari Ahmed Ali Sikandari.
A large number of teachers and students of the religious institution also participated in the ceremony.
Holding national flags, the participants raised enthusiastic slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad.” They prayed for the country’s security and prosperity and cut a cake to mark the anniversary of Pakistan’s independence.
On the occasion, participants expressed their patriotic enthusiasm over Pakistan’s successes against India and paid tribute to the courage and bravery demonstrated by the Pakistan Air Force.
Addressing the ceremony, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan central leader and successor to Mufti-e-Azam Qibla Mufti Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Qadri said that Pakistan was achieved after a long struggle and countless sacrifices.
He said Independence Day should be celebrated with a renewed pledge that no sacrifice would be spared for the protection of Maqam-e-Mustafa ﷺ and the implementation of the Nizam-e-Mustafa ﷺ in Pakistan. He urged the nation to play its role in transforming Pakistan into a truly Islamic welfare state.
He said that the victory in the Battle of Truth had doubled the joy of Independence Day celebrations. He added that Pakistan’s Independence Day should serve as an opportunity to renew national hopes and aspirations.
He paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other leaders who, through courage, determination, and sound strategy, united the nation under the green and white flag.
Mufti Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Qadri called upon the people to pledge on Independence Day that they would work collectively for the development and prosperity of Pakistan. He stressed that the freedom of the homeland must be protected through brotherhood, unity, faith, and discipline.
He particularly emphasized the role of young people, describing them as the vanguard of the nation. He said the youth must prove through their conduct that they are responsible, dignified, and conscious citizens of Pakistan.
He said freedom is a great blessing and that a single day of life in freedom is better than a thousand years of slavery. He noted that nations living and breathing in an atmosphere of freedom are truly fortunate.
He concluded by stressing that Independence Day should not only be an occasion for celebration but also a time to recognize and fulfill the responsibilities that come with freedom.
