The market has once again seen a rise in the prices of solar panels.

According to market sources, the price of solar panels has increased by PKR 10 per watt, taking the rate from PKR 30 to PKR 40 per watt.

This increase has also significantly raised the overall cost of solar systems, with the price of a complete system going up by approximately PKR 200,000.

Under the new price list, on-grid solar system prices are as follows:

  • 5 kW system: PKR 650,000
  • 7 kW system: PKR 750,000
  • 10 kW system: PKR 1,100,000
  • 12 kW system: PKR 1,250,000
  • 15 kW system: PKR 1,500,000

Sources say these prices are based on on-grid systems, while customers opting for hybrid systems will need to pay extra for batteries.

Market insiders note that the price hike may pose challenges for consumers switching to solar energy. However, due to the continually rising electricity rates, demand for solar systems remains strong.
