U.S. Sends Large Force Toward Iran, Including Warships and Aircraft

The United States has dispatched a large force toward Iran, including warships and aircraft.

Speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One, President Trump said that a major U.S. force is on the move toward Iran. He stated that many ships are heading in Iran’s direction and that, as a precautionary measure, forces are being deployed near Iran. “We’ll see what happens next,” he added.

Trump said that he is closely monitoring Iran and that the U.S. had warned Iran it would take action if executions were carried out. He claimed that after his warning, Iran canceled the executions.

The president clarified that this military movement does not necessarily mean that the United States will carry out military action.

Foreign media, citing U.S. officials, reported that a carrier strike group and other military assets have already been sent toward the Middle East. These include the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, warships, and combat aircraft.

Earlier, Trump had said that he would not take further military action against Iran; however, he warned that if Iran restarts its nuclear program, the United States would respond.
