Shafqat Imrani, who had surrendered himself under a murder charge in Hyderabad, appeared in court during the hearing. The hearing in the Additional Sessions Judge Court-I has been adjourned until January 27.
During the hearing, Shafqat Imrani appeared in court through his lawyer, Tariq Shah. The complainant’s lawyer requested the court to summon a witness for giving a re-examination.
Speaking to the media outside the court, law graduate Shafqat Imrani said that the case is being deliberately prolonged. He said, “Lies will remain lies. In this case, the complainant’s lawyers are using tactics to delay the proceedings. I have spent 8 years in jail without a trial, and over 400 hearings have taken place. I hope to get justice from the court, and I will prove my innocence.”
