KARACHI, August 11, 2026: Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Anthony Naveed attended a flag-hoisting ceremony at the Quaid-e-Azam Residency as the chief guest in connection with Minority Day (Youm-e-Aqalliyat).
The ceremony was organized to mark Minority Day and highlight the contributions and rights of religious minorities in Pakistan.
Sindh Assembly Member Asif Musa and former Governor Lieutenant General (retd.) Moinuddin Haider also attended the event.
Bishop Frederick John, Bishop of the Karachi Church of Pakistan, and Father Mario, Principal of St Patrick’s, were among the prominent participants.
Representatives and leaders of different religious communities and schools also participated in the ceremony.
Deputy Speaker Anthony Naveed’s participation as the chief guest highlighted the Sindh government’s commitment to promoting harmony, equality and peaceful coexistence among people belonging to different religious communities.
