SIC VISIT AROR UNIVERSITY, APPRECIATE ACADEMIC, RESEARCH AND INNOVATION INITIATIVES
SUKKUR: A delegation of the Sindh Information Commission(SIC) headed by Commissioner 1 Muhammad Saleem Khan, along with Commissioner Noor Muhammad Dayo and. Executive Director Zulfiqar Ali Shaikh, visited Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design and Heritage, Sukkur, where Vice Chancellor Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand briefed the delegation on the university’s academic programmes and achievements.
Commissioner 1 Muhammad Saleem Khan while lauding the proactive approach of the university,asked the vice chancellor to nominate a focal person for close cooperation with the Commission.
Commissioner || Noor Muhammad Dayo said that SIC is trying it’s utmost to spread awareness about Sindh Transparency and Right to Information Act 2016.
The delegation visited the Khan Aror House of Design and inspected the university’s four academic blocks, where various educational and creative activities are being carried out.
The SIC Commissioners and Executive Director interacted with the students and asked about their future aspirations.
The SIC delegation appreciated availability of 150,000 digital books and learning resources to students and faculty through its digital library facilities.
The SIC delegation further appreciated the initiatives being undertaken by Aror University in the fields of education, innovation, research, industry linkages, scholarships and international collaboration
During the visit, the Vice Chancellor informed that Aror University was established in 2022 and had expanded its academic and educational activities significantly within a short span of time .
The delegation was informed that the university has introduced contemporary programmes, including BS Artificial Intelligence and Multimedia and Gaming, besides other programmes in art, architecture, design and related disciplines.
Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand highlighted university’s achievements and success stories of its faculties and students.
The visit provided an opportunity for interaction on matters relating to transparency, access to information and institutional development.
The vice chancellor thanked the delegation for sparing their valuable time to visit the University.
