MATIARI — The Sindhi Adabi Sangat’s Matiari chapter organized a protest rally under the slogan “Sindh Meri Aman” (Sindh, My Motherland) against any proposal or attempt to divide Sindh.

The rally was held from Milad Chowk to the Matiari Press Club and was led by Sindhi Adabi Sangat Matiari Secretary Khayal Khatri, along with Rafiq Ahmed Soomro, Muhammad Bachal Memon, Rafiq Ahmed Bhambhro, Ayaz Chand, Naqis Memon, Asif Soomro, Rafiq Memon, Sohrab Khan Bati, Aslam Memon and other members and activists.

Addressing the participants, the leaders said that any attempt to divide Sindh and undermine its territorial and cultural unity would not be accepted under any circumstances.

They said Sindh was already facing serious poverty and economic hardship, with a large section of the population living below the poverty line. According to the protesters, creating additional provinces under such circumstances would further burden the people rather than resolve their problems.

The speakers maintained that the people of Sindh, particularly its politically and socially conscious sections, would strongly oppose any move aimed at dividing the province.

The participants raised slogans in support of Sindh’s unity and demanded that proposals concerning the division of Sindh be abandoned. They reiterated that Sindh’s historical, cultural and territorial identity must be preserved and that any decision affecting its unity should take into account the wishes and interests of its people.
