HYDERABAD — Report by Qadir Mallah: The second phase of a major initiative to distribute 33,000 sewing machines among deserving women was launched in Union Council 72 of Hosri Tando Qaiser, with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) youth leader Raheel Sherjeel Memon overseeing the distribution.
The initiative is aimed at providing women with opportunities for self-employment and improving their household incomes.
Initiative for Women’s Empowerment
Speaking on the occasion, Raheel Sherjeel Memon said that important steps were being taken to empower women in line with the directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
He said the sewing-machine distribution programme was part of a major initiative designed to provide women with sustainable sources of income and help them become economically independent.
According to Memon, the programme would provide employment opportunities to thousands of women and enable them to contribute to their families’ financial well-being.
33,000 Sewing Machines to Be Distributed
Raheel Sherjeel Memon described the distribution of 33,000 sewing machines as a historic project aimed at creating livelihood opportunities for women.
He said the initiative would help deserving women establish small-scale home-based work and generate income through sewing and related activities.
He added that the sewing machines could become an important means of achieving economic independence for women while also helping increase household earnings.
New Employment Opportunities
Memon said efforts were underway to create new employment opportunities for women across Hyderabad district.
He stated that the objective was not merely to distribute equipment but to provide deserving women with practical means through which they could earn a respectable livelihood.
He described the programme as a major step by the Pakistan Peoples Party toward helping women stand on their own feet and play a stronger economic role within their families and communities.
Programme to Cover Rural Hyderabad
According to Raheel Sherjeel Memon, the sewing-machine distribution programme will extend across Hyderabad Rural Tehsil, where a total of 33,000 sewing machines will be distributed to women.
He said the initiative was intended to provide women throughout the rural areas with opportunities for dignified employment and self-reliance.
Memon expressed hope that the programme would help deserving women develop home-based sources of income and reduce their dependence on others for financial support.
