Lahore: A principal decision has been made to equip security guards, ward boys, nurses, and pharmacy staff in Punjab hospitals with body cameras, while an agreement was reached to ban doctors from using mobile phones during duty hours.

The progress of health projects was reviewed in a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

In the meeting, it was agreed to ban the use of mobile phones by doctors and other medical staff during duty hours in government hospitals.

Additionally, the meeting directed that body cameras be installed for hospital security guards, ward boys, nurses, and pharmacy staff.

The meeting also approved the use of Chinese-made medical equipment to equip government hospitals with modern medical devices. It was decided that salaries in government hospitals would be increased solely based on performance.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated that 8 billion rupees are being spent on medicines, yet their non-availability is incomprehensible.

She emphasized that public money and time will not be wasted, and incompetent and lazy officials will have to go home.
