Hyderabad — August 9, 2026
Hyderabad Police have arrested five suspects in separate operations against alleged criminal elements, drug dealers, Mainpuri and Gutka suppliers, and individuals allegedly involved in activities described by police as social vices.
The operations were conducted on the directives of DIG Hyderabad Range Tariq Razzaq Khan Dharejo and SSP Hyderabad Shahzaib Chachar, as part of an ongoing campaign against criminal activities across the district.
Naseem Nagar Check Post
Incharge Inspector Benazir Jamali, along with her police team, conducted an operation following confidential information.
Police raided an area near Abdullah Mall, where two suspects were allegedly found providing harmful flavored hookah sessions to underage children at a private café.
The two arrested suspects were identified as Tauqeer Jafri and Zeeshan Jaiser. Police said another suspect managed to escape from the scene.
During the operation, police recovered six glass hookahs along with plastic pipes from the location.
A case has been registered against the arrested and absconding suspects under Crime No. 389/2026, under Sections 5, 8, 10 and 12 of the S.P.N.S.H.O. Act.
Police said further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged activity.
B Section Police Station
SHO Inspector Sajjad Hussain Jatoi, along with his team, carried out an operation during routine patrolling.
Police arrested an alleged Mainpuri seller identified as Ismail Odho.
During a search, police reportedly recovered 55 packets of Mainpuri from his possession.
A case was subsequently registered against the suspect under Crime No. 182/2026, under Section 8 of the Gutka and Mainpuri Act.
Police said legal proceedings against the arrested suspect are continuing.
Paban Check Post
Paban Check Post Incharge Muhammad Ali Korai, along with his team, conducted an operation based on confidential information.
During the operation, police arrested Gulsher Parhiyar, who was allegedly wanted in cases involving an ice-drug offence and terrorism-related charges.
According to police records, the suspect was wanted in Crime Nos. 233/2026 and 260/2026, registered under Sections 353, 324, 147, 148, 149, 100 and 427 of the Pakistan Penal Code, as well as Sections 6/7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Police further stated that he was also wanted in Crime Nos. 299/2026, 306/2026 and 313/2026, registered under Sections 353, 324, 147 and 148 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Further legal proceedings are being initiated against the arrested suspect in accordance with the law.
GOR Police Station
SHO Inspector Mazhar Ali Soomro, along with his police team, conducted another operation during routine patrolling.
Police arrested an alleged Gutka seller identified as Shahbaz Majeedano.
During the search, police reportedly recovered 610 packets of Gutka from his possession.
A case was registered against the suspect under Crime No. 63/2026, under Sections 4/8 of the Gutka and Mainpuri Act.
Police said further investigation and legal proceedings are underway.
Continued Crackdown
Hyderabad Police said operations against criminal elements, drug suppliers, Gutka and Mainpuri sellers, and individuals allegedly involved in activities considered harmful to society will continue.
Authorities stated that the ongoing operations are being conducted under the supervision of senior police officials with the aim of preventing illegal activities and maintaining law and order in the district.
Police said further legal action against the arrested suspects is being carried out according to the relevant laws, while efforts are also underway to apprehend suspects who escaped during the operations.
