Dadu (District Reporter Mukhtiar Ali Jatoi): Residents of Nabi Bakhsh Solangi village, within the jurisdiction of Jhلو Police Station, including men and women, staged a protest carrying copies of the Holy Quran and appealed for justice over what they described as alleged excesses by members of the Bhand community.
The protesters alleged that some individuals forcibly entered their homes, took away their cattle and damaged household belongings.
Speaking to the media, protesters Shabbir Solangi, Moharam Solangi and others said their brother Gulsher Solangi is involved in the cattle business and allegedly borrows money on interest. They said the other family members have no connection with these dealings.
Despite this, they alleged that Maqsood Bhand, Naveed Bhand, Murtaza Bhand, Mujahid Bhand and Maqsood’s sons forcibly entered their homes and took away 16 cattle, while also damaging property inside the houses.
The protesters further alleged that Naveed Bhand staged an incident in which he allegedly shot himself in the leg and then gathered a large number of people. They claimed that Sونو Solangi was abducted and threatened with further removal of cattle from their village.
According to the protesters, following the incident, members of the Bhand community allegedly registered a false case, resulting in the arrest of three Solangi community members — Zahid Solangi, Hakim Solangi and Mashooq Solangi.
The protesters appealed to the Inspector General of Sindh, Deputy Inspector General of Hyderabad, SSP Dadu and other senior authorities to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation into the matter.
They demanded the recovery of the allegedly taken 16 cattle, legal action against those allegedly involved in vandalism and threats, and justice for their arrested community members. They also urged the authorities to ensure that all aspects of the dispute are investigated fairly and according to law.
