MIRPURKHAS (Bureau Report): A kabaddi championship was organized at the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Gama Stadium in Mirpurkhas as part of the Independence Day 2026 celebrations, with the support of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh.
Teams from Mirpurkhas and Umerkot districts participated in the championship.
The match between the two teams was highly competitive, with players displaying excellent skills, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship. After an exciting contest, the Mirpurkhas district team defeated Umerkot to win the championship.
The event was attended by special guests, including Deputy Director Social Welfare Khalid Nizamani, Anwar Panhwar, and Muhammad Saleh Kori, who encouraged the participating players.
District Sports Officer Mirpurkhas Washdev Malhi warmly welcomed the guests and appreciated their participation in the event.
At the conclusion of the championship, the special guests distributed trophies and prizes among the winning team and players who delivered outstanding performances.
The event was organized to promote sports activities among young people and celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day through healthy competition and community participation.
