KARACHI: Senior Pakistani actor Firdous Jamal has clarified his earlier comments about Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, saying that he considers him a good actor.

In an earlier interview, Firdous Jamal had reportedly said that although Shah Rukh Khan was a superstar, he was not a good actor. The remarks went viral on social media and sparked considerable discussion among fans and members of the entertainment industry.

However, in a recent interview, Firdous Jamal appeared to distance himself from those remarks. He said that he had never made such comments about Shah Rukh Khan and stated that he considers him a good actor.

Firdous Jamal also described Shah Rukh Khan as a continuation of the acting tradition associated with legendary Indian actor Dilip Kumar.

He explained that every actor has a particular artistic and intellectual style. According to him, his own approach to acting is connected to the style of Dilip Kumar, while Shah Rukh Khan also represents a continuation of that tradition in his own way.

The veteran actor said that different performers are influenced by different artists. He revealed that he himself had been influenced by legendary actors including Dilip Kumar, Muhammad Ali, and Agha Talish, and that he used to imitate aspects of their performances during his early career.

Firdous Jamal further discussed the role of imitation in acting and said that imitation is a natural part of an artist’s development.

He explained that an artist’s journey often begins with observing and copying others before developing an individual style. He said that human beings have been learning through imitation since the beginning of civilization and that there is nothing inherently wrong with this process.

The veteran actor also responded strongly when asked about popular Pakistani actress Mahira Khan.

Expressing irritation at the question, Firdous Jamal said that Mahira Khan was not his personal issue and questioned why she was repeatedly being presented as a matter of concern for him.

He pointed out that she was not a member of his family and suggested that questions about her should not be repeatedly linked to him.

Firdous Jamal’s latest comments have once again drawn attention because of his earlier public remarks about leading actors in the Pakistani and Indian entertainment industries.

His clarification regarding Shah Rukh Khan appears to soften the position attributed to him in his earlier widely circulated comments, with the senior actor now openly describing the Bollywood star as a good actor and connecting him with the legacy of Dilip Kumar.
