Islamabad: The federal government has approved a standardized nationwide system for issuing Police Character Certificates (Police Clearance Certificates), making the process fully online across Pakistan.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the decision during a visit to the National Police Bureau (NPB), where he chaired a meeting and approved the new digital framework for the issuance of Police Character Certificates.
Under the new system, the National Police Bureau will issue Police Clearance Certificates through a centralized online platform, replacing the previous, often complicated, province-based procedures. The initiative is intended to simplify the application process, improve efficiency, and provide a uniform service throughout the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said the government has transformed what was previously a lengthy and cumbersome procedure into a fast, streamlined, and completely digital service. Citizens will now be able to apply for and obtain their Police Clearance Certificates from home through the National Police Bureau’s online portal, eliminating the need for repeated visits to police offices.
The move is expected to improve public convenience, enhance transparency, and ensure a consistent standard for police clearance services nationwide. The online system will particularly benefit individuals requiring Police Clearance Certificates for employment, immigration, education, or visa applications by providing quicker and more accessible processing.
