Karachi: Investigation officials have obtained the mobile data record and forensic report of Mir Raza Ali Khan as part of the probe into his death.
According to investigators, Mir Raza sent a message to one of his friends on the night of July 28. In the message, he reportedly asked his friend for a loan of 30 million rupees, saying that he was facing serious difficulties and urgently needed money.
Investigators said that Mir Raza’s fiancée sent him continuous messages between 3:10 am and 3:50 am, but he did not respond to any of her messages. Officials said the mobile data record suggests that Mir Raza may have been under financial pressure and had debts with several people.
Authorities said that the complete medical report has not yet been received. The initial medical report stated that the cause of death was a gunshot injury, but Mir Raza’s family has expressed dissatisfaction with the findings.
The family has claimed that there were marks of alleged torture and burns on his body. Officials said that if the family requests a new medical examination, it will be considered.
Investigators added that statements of 15 people, including the online taxi driver and the person who first informed authorities about the body, have been recorded.
Officials said they are carefully examining whether Mir Raza’s death was a suicide or a murder, and the investigation is still ongoing.
