SUKKUR: The Civil Defence Warden Service of Sukkur held an important meeting to reaffirm its commitment to public service, emergency response, and disaster management under the vision of Deputy Commissioner and Controller Civil Defence Sukkur, Nadir Shehzad Khan, titled “Safe Sukkur, Strong Pakistan.”
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defence Sukkur, Dr. Saeed Awan, and attended by officer in-charges, group wardens, post wardens, and other officials of the Civil Defence Warden Service.
During the meeting, participants pledged that the Civil Defence Warden Service would continue to serve as a first-response volunteer force during national and religious events, natural disasters, emergencies, and other occasions requiring public assistance. They also agreed to organize comprehensive public awareness and training programs on first aid, fire safety, rescue operations, disaster management, and other emergency preparedness measures.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Saeed Awan said Sukkur holds a significant position in Sindh regarding Civil Defence activities. He noted that officers, in-charges, and wardens are working together as a unified team with discipline, dedication, and a strong commitment to serving the public.
He praised the guidance and support of Deputy Commissioner and Controller Civil Defence Sukkur, Nadir Shehzad Khan, stating that his leadership has played a vital role in the success and effectiveness of Civil Defence operations in the district.
Dr. Awan further explained that the Civil Defence Warden Service, functioning under the Home Department of the Government of Sindh, is a respected volunteer organization that provides citizens with an opportunity to contribute to public welfare, fulfill their national responsibilities, and assist communities during emergencies.
He appealed to the youth, women, men, and all citizens of Sukkur who have a passion for community service to join the Civil Defence Warden Service and become responsible and active members of society while contributing to the service of the country.
Among those who attended the meeting were Group Warden Muhammad Ahmed Sheikh, Post Warden Muhammad Riaz Khokhar, Rana Muhammad Tahir, Officer In-Charge Muhammad Asif Sheikh, Muhammad Ali, Lala Imran Mirani, Lala Rehan Pathan, Muhammad Yaseen Qamar, Muhammad Yousuf, Riaz Ahmed Siddiqui, Fayaz Ahmed, Shahab Hussain, Mahmood Ahmed, and other Civil Defence officials and volunteers.
