KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast thunderstorms and rainfall in Karachi later today, with cloudy conditions expected to persist over the next 24 hours.
According to the Met Office, the city is likely to remain overcast throughout the day, while thunderstorms accompanied by rain may occur during the afternoon or evening.
Weather officials reported that Karachi recorded a minimum temperature of 29.5 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 36 degrees Celsius during the day.
The PMD also stated that the humidity level stands at 82 percent, contributing to warm and humid weather conditions despite the possibility of rainfall.
Meanwhile, sea breezes are blowing at a speed of 8 kilometers per hour, helping maintain moisture levels in the atmosphere.
Meteorologists have advised residents to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts, as localized thunderstorms may develop rapidly and could temporarily affect traffic and routine activities in different parts of the city.
The weather forecast comes as monsoon conditions continue to influence several regions of Pakistan, with intermittent rain expected in parts of Sindh and other provinces over the coming days. Authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution during heavy showers and avoid unnecessary travel in areas prone to water accumulation or poor visibility.
