Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu has declared that the world has never seen such a courageous and precise use of air power as demonstrated by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) during the recent “Battle of Haq.” Speaking at the passing-out parade at PAF Academy Risalpur, he highlighted the nation’s historic defense achievements and reaffirmed the force’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty.
Addressing the ceremony, the Air Chief stated that during Operation Banyan Marsous, PAF decisively defeated the enemy and established clear superiority in modern aerial warfare. He recalled that on the night of 6 and 7 May, when Pakistan’s sovereignty was challenged, the PAF responded instantly and forcefully. According to him, the force shot down advanced enemy fighter jets, including Rafales, and disrupted hostile operations with precision. On 10 May, PAF successfully neutralized targets within the enemy’s defense system, demonstrating tactical mastery and technological preparedness.
Air Chief Marshal Sidhu emphasized that the success of Operation Banyan Marsous also included excellence in cyber warfare, where Pakistan proved its dominance by countering digital threats from the adversary. He noted that enemy aircraft, including the much-talked-about Rafale, failed completely in the face of PAF’s tactical superiority. The Air Chief stressed that PAF monitored every enemy movement in real time, responding within moments and ensuring operational success at every step.
He added that Pakistan’s territorial integrity will never be compromised and that PAF’s professional approach ensures its actions are calculated, responsible, and focused solely on securing honorable peace. Despite having the capability to inflict greater damage, PAF exercised restraint, which he described as the hallmark of a disciplined and professional military force.
Air Chief Marshal Sidhu further noted that the international community has acknowledged Pakistan’s air superiority during the Battle of Haq. He revealed that global defense institutions and military analysts are now studying PAF’s operational strategy, modern warfare techniques, and battle efficiency showcased during the conflict.
He praised every officer and airman of PAF for their readiness, professionalism, and dedication, while also acknowledging the leadership role of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who played a crucial part in guiding national defense efforts during the crisis.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s position as a peaceful and responsible nuclear power, the Air Chief stressed that while the country desires peace, it will not tolerate any challenge to its sovereignty. “If anyone misreads our desire for peace as weakness, they will face the consequences,” he warned. He concluded by stating that the trust and confidence of the Pakistani nation serve as the greatest source of strength for the armed forces.
