HYDERABAD: Residents of Latifabad Unit No. 10, Christian Colony, near Khatoon-e-Salas School, have complained of prolonged daily power outages, alleging that electricity to two local transformers is deliberately disconnected every morning.
According to residents, the transformer near Khatoon-e-Salas School and another near the local church have their links removed at around 6:45 a.m. every day, resulting in electricity remaining suspended for up to 18 hours and causing severe hardship for the community.
The affected residents have appealed to the HESCO Chief and the SDO of Allama Iqbal Sub-Division to take immediate notice of the issue and ensure an uninterrupted power supply. They said that daily 18-hour outages have become routine, making life extremely difficult, particularly during the summer.
Residents expressed growing frustration over the situation, saying prolonged electricity cuts have caused widespread anger in the area. They warned that if the problem is not resolved promptly, they may be forced to stage a protest.
The residents also urged the concerned linemen and Line Superintendent not to remove the transformer links on a daily basis and called on HESCO authorities to provide lasting relief by restoring regular electricity supply.
