In a series of coordinated operations across different police stations, Hyderabad Police arrested six suspects, including absconders and proclaimed offenders, while recovering large quantities of harmful substances such as gutka and mainpuri.
Pabban Check Post Operation:
Police at Pabban check post arrested an accused, Saiful Bharghri, and seized 790 packets of mainpuri from his possession. A case has been registered against him under FIR No. 401/2025, Section 8 of the Mainpuri Act, while his accomplice managed to escape.
City Police Station:
City Police successfully apprehended Shan Elahi Sheikh, a proclaimed offender wanted in FIR No. 84/2021 under Section 489-F of the Pakistan Penal Code for financial fraud.
Bhittai Nagar Police Station:
In another raid, Bhittai Nagar Police arrested Saeed Khaskheli and seized 14 packets of gutka. A case was registered against him under FIR No. 301/2025, Section 8 of the Mainpuri Act.
Baldia Police Station:
Baldia Police arrested Ghulam Mustafa Mallah during a special operation, while his accomplice, Waqeel Ahmed Rajput, managed to flee. Police recovered 450 packets of mainpuri from the suspects, and an FIR (No. 169/2025) was filed under Section 8 of the Mainpuri Act.
Hali Road Police Station:
Hali Road Police arrested two absconders, Hamid alias Bona and Ali Haider, who were wanted in FIR No. 76/2025 (Section 5A, Gambling Ordinance) and FIR No. 179/2025 (Gutka and Mainpuri Act). Upon their arrest, police recovered 800 packets of mainpuri, leading to a new FIR No. 232/2025 under the same act.
According to the spokesperson of Hyderabad District Police, operations against the sale and distribution of harmful substances, as well as against absconders and other criminal elements, are being intensified to ensure public health and safety. The police have reaffirmed their commitment to continue strict enforcement actions across all areas of Hyderabad to curb illegal trade and criminal activities.
