NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: A career guidance programme titled “RSIL – Law in Practice: Career Fair” was organised at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Law College, Naushahro Feroze, with the support of the Research Society of International Law (RSIL) and The Asia Foundation.
The programme aimed to provide LLB students with information about career opportunities in the legal profession, judiciary, and related fields, while offering practical guidance to help them make informed decisions about their professional futures.
The event was addressed by retired District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Hanif Solangi, Sindh Bar Council Member Abdul Sattar Loharani, Mahboob Ali Sahito (DDA), Anwar Ali Sahito, the Principal and CEO of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Law College, and Ms Sidra Ali, Advocate of the High Court of Sindh.
The speakers highlighted career opportunities in legal practice, the judiciary, prosecution services, and corporate law. They also discussed the professional skills, ethical responsibilities, and practical experience required to succeed in the legal profession.
Participants were guided on modern legal requirements, career planning, and professional development, with speakers encouraging students to continuously improve their legal knowledge and practical abilities.
An interactive question-and-answer session was also held, during which students asked questions about different branches of law, Sindh Bar Council registration, the judicial system, and future career prospects. The panel provided detailed answers and practical advice based on their professional experience.
The programme was attended by a large number of LLB students, young lawyers, and faculty members from Naushahro Feroze and neighbouring districts.
Participants described the event as highly beneficial for their professional development and emphasised the need for more academic and practical guidance programmes of this nature to help prepare future legal professionals.
According to the organisers, the objective of such initiatives is to familiarise aspiring lawyers with the practical demands of the legal profession, enhance their professional skills, and create awareness about career opportunities available at both the national and international levels.
The programme was coordinated by focal persons Abdul Ghaffar Loharani and Nauman Ahmed Arain.
