NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: A married couple from Moro city staged a protest outside the Naushahro Feroze Press Club, alleging that they had been forcibly evicted from their home and were facing pressure over a property dispute.
Speaking to the media, Saddam Wasutro, accompanied by his wife Mehak Solangi and Amina, said he had entered into a love marriage with Mehak. He explained that after their marriage, he and his father-in-law, Iqbal Machhi, jointly purchased a house where the couple had been living.
According to Saddam, the situation later changed when his father-in-law allegedly became motivated by greed and, with the support of Riaz Mari and Shahnawaz Machhi, forcibly removed him from the house.
He further alleged that the accused are now attempting to sell the property and are pressuring his wife to seek a divorce from him. Saddam said he has already filed an application under Sections 22-A and 22-B before the Naushahro Feroze court, requesting legal action and justice.
Speaking during the protest, Mehak Solangi supported her husband’s claims and accused her father, Iqbal Machhi, of trying to take control of the house. She alleged that he had been forcing her to divorce her husband so that he could gain full possession of the property.
Mehak further claimed that when she refused to end her marriage, her father subjected her to physical abuse. She said she and her husband are living a happy married life and have no intention of separating.
The couple appealed to the District and Sessions Judge Naushahro Feroze, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), and the DSP Moro to provide them with protection and ensure justice. They also demanded legal action against the individuals they have named in their allegations.
The claims made by the protesting couple have not been independently verified, and no response from the accused or the authorities was immediately available.
