Berlin: One person was killed and around 16 others were injured after a driver allegedly drove a van into a crowd attending an event in Berlin, Germany, according to foreign media reports.
The incident occurred at Tiergarten Park, where a large number of people had gathered for a public event.
According to media reports, the driver of a white van suddenly drove into the crowd during the gathering, killing one person and injuring approximately 16 others.
Emergency services, including police and rescue teams, responded swiftly to the scene following reports of the incident. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals, with helicopters also being used to assist in evacuating victims requiring urgent medical attention.
German authorities said the suspected driver has been identified, but had not yet been arrested at the time of the report.
Police have launched search operations and are carrying out raids in an effort to locate and apprehend the suspect.
